This promotional CD single contained a short version (4:17) and also the album version of song from Streisand's Back To Broadway album.

A UK version (Columbia-659738 7), which was released January 1994, featured two tracks:
- The Music of the Night
- Children Will Listen
The two-track CD single included Barbra's introductory acapella lullaby and monologue for "Children," which was recorded during the Back To Broadway studio sessions. This version also appears on the European cassette and 7-inch two-song singles. The previous year, a promo-only CD single (#CSK 5288) with this special version was issued to U.S. radio stations.
