The Hollywood Women's Political Committee held a fundraiser that raised $4 million for the Democratic Party.
Introduced by Tom Hanks, Barbra sang “The Way We Were” and included some political lyrics near the end.
Next, she gave the audience a preview of the title song on her forthcoming album, Higher Ground.
Barbra spoke about the tendency of the press to tear people down. Then she sang a hopeful song, “Somewhere.”
Afterwards, Barbra was joined on stage by a choir of young singers. Together they sang “At the Same Time,” another new song from Higher Ground.
