Taped on May 7, 1978 and broadcast the following evening, an array of celebrities performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles to honor Israel's 30th anniversary.

Dressed in a gorgeous, white lace antique dress, Barbra closed the show. She walked onstage to join Zubin Mehta and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She draped her lace shawl over her stool and steadied her microphone. Some ardent fans screamed, "We love you, Barbra!" which caused Barbra to lose her concentration momentarily. Then she began an incredible version of "Tomorrow" from the musical "Annie."

Barbra sang "People" and "Happy Days" then spoke to Israel's Prime Minister Golda Meir via telephone (available on JUST FOR THE RECORD.) Finally, Barbra sang "Hatikva".

Six degrees of Barbra: The show was executive produced and co-written by James Lipton ... who is now quite famous for his INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO series, for which Barbra taped an episode in September 2003.
