On Saturday, March 20, 1976, Barbra Streisand stepped out onto the Sun Devil Stadium stage located in Tempe, Arizona. 50,000 concert-goers watched. An all-day concert had been created for the filming of Barbra's movie, A Star is Born. Other rock artists, including Peter Frampton, Santana, and Montrose were booked to perform that day. The film crew captured the live audience with their cameras and filmed several scenes for the movie that day. Barbra sang several of her songs, too, including People, The Way We Were, and several Star is Born songs — many never heard by the audience that day, but soon to become associated with her forever.
