The Hilton
Las Vegas, Nevada
December 13, 1970 - January 2, 1971
December 24, 1971 - January 14, 1972

The International Hotel (Barbra performed there in 1969) was officially renamed the Las Vegas Hilton. Barbra's show at the Hilton was almost identical to the concert taped and released as LIVE CONCERT AT THE FORUM. Robert Klein was her opening act. He performed a 30-minute comedy routine, then Barbra took the stage and sang "Sing/Make Your Own Kind of Music."

During her Hilton shows, Barbra mostly wore stretch satin pantsuits, with her hair up in a bun. The tea table that has become synonymous with a Streisand concert was also present on the Hilton stage.

The highlight of the Hilton concerts was the "One Less Bell" duet. Staged dramatically, with Barbra singing duet with a pre-recorded track, it must have been something to see live!

She performed her "facing fears" monologue, as well, fake-smoking a marijuana joint. Did Barbra really smoke marijuana on stage? She told Rolling Stone magazine in 1972:

"I'd take out a joint and light it. First, just faking it. Then I started lighting live joints, passing them around to the band, you know. I was great, it relieved all my tensions. And I ended up with the greatest supply of grass ever. Other acts up and down the Strip heard about what I was doing — Little Anthony and the Imperials, people like that — and started sending me the best dope in the world. I never ran out. Hmmm ... I wonder if I should tell that story."
